Raglan sleeve adjustment for a broad shoulder

Firstly, apologies for the quality of some of the photos on this blog, it didn’t occur to me that so many of you would be interested in this adjustment.

This adjustment was needed due to my boys broad shoulders making the neck edge too high and causing creases in the body and sleeve of the t-shirt.

The original sleeve was causing creases and sat too far up the neck

Here is the step by step process I used to adjust the sleeve pattern.

The sleeve with the adjustments

As you can see, using the new pattern piece for the sleeve, the neck has lowered and the front of the t-shirt and sleeve are now crease free.

There is still an adjustment needed to resolve the creases from the underarm to the shoulder and the hem of the sleeve is still pointing up. I will produce a little video showing how I deal with that next.
